BIOGRAPHY OF OUR ANCESTOR MARAIA ANGELO.
Angelo Maraia was born in Villafranca di Verona, a smoll town very close to Verona, he was the son of Gaetano Maraia an...d Teresa Vizzini.

Verona is very famous for the story of Juliete and Romeo.
Angelo when was young had a great talent for painting. It soon become a recognized painter and around 1875 was called in Sicily by famous painters. In that era Sicily had a moment of glory for the explotation of the mine of sulphur.
In Sicily Angelo was contacted to paint the celing of the theater of the city Racalmuto .
In this city he met and married in 1881 the beautiful Isabella Vinci, who belonged a very powerful family of Racalmuto.
Completion the work of the theater moved into town of San Cataldo in 1882. In this town followed his profesion and had 3 children: Michael, Gaetano and Josephin.
In 1906 at a young age died his wife Isabella.
Shortly Angelo with soons Michael and Josephin took the decision to emigrate to United States. His son Gaetano remaind in Sicily and moved to city Caltanissetta when married Santina Lapadura.
Angelo with family went to live in Brooklyn. In this town contiued to paint, and there died en 1925.

Angelo Maraia nacque a Villafranca di Verona, un piccolo paese molto vicino a Verona, era il figlio di Gaetano Maraia e Teresa Vizzini.

Verona è molto famosa per la storia di Juliete e Romeo.

Angelo quando era giovane avevano un grande talento per la pittura. E presto diventato un pittore riconosciuto e intorno 1875 è stato chiamato in Sicilia da pittori famosi. In quell'epoca la Sicilia ha avuto un momento di gloria per il explotation della miniera di zolfo.

In Sicilia Angelo è stato contattato per dipingere il soffitto del Teatro della città di Racalmuto.

In questa città conobbe e sposò nel 1881 la bella Isabella Vinci, che apparteneva a una famiglia molto potente di Racalmuto.

Completamento del lavoro del teatro si trasferì nella città di San Cataldo nel 1882. In questa città seguita sua profusione e aveva 3 figli: Michael, Gaetano e Josephin.

Nel 1906 in giovane età morì sua moglie Isabella.

Poco Angelo con soons Michael e Josephin ha preso la decisione di emigrare in Stati Uniti d'America. Suo figlio Gaetano remaind in Sicilia e si trasferì a città Caltanissetta quando sposò Santina Lapadura.

Angelo con la famiglia andò a vivere a Brooklyn. In questa città contiued a dipingere, e qui vi morì en 1925.
